Timoneiro Inn, a beach side hotel in Rio de Janeiro wanted more direct bookings.
I analyzed the customer experience on their site and saw it needed a make over. It had too many pages, old photos and wasn't highlighting what mattered. Most customers, according to Google Analytics, made their way in but then left after 3 page visits. Plus the booking form was too long and the contact methods didn't include Whatsapp, just landlines.
This was simple. I redesigned their website, using the single-page site structure, so visitors wouldn't have to click around... just scroll.
I hired a photographer to take better photos, as the place had gone thru renovations and the old photos didn't reflect that. And the old photos we're professional, and in tourism, image is everything.
I decided to highlight the advantages to this hotel, namely the breakfast, location and pool side areas.
The end result is one that leads the customer over everything they need to see to make a decision, then taking them to the booking form.
As an added benefit, by creating the site on Google Sites, their staff is now, after little training, able to easily update the site, create alerts and improve/edit text and images.
They now get 3 times more sales, as compared to the previous site, even comparing to pre-covid times.
This was a 2 day exercise, between conversion analysis and new web design.
